Sunday School
We have had several children receive the Holy Ghost lately and the excitement that that has generated has had the others seeking and desiring after it as well. They come to Sunday school not only to have fun, but also with a desire to learn something new about their Creator. Their willingness to ask questions about the Word of God has been so exciting us. It's such a pleasure to watch as true understanding comes over a young face and to know that God is opening up His Word to them. They are learning to make ethical and moral decision and to let the Spirit of God guide them in their daily activities, not only for today, but also for the rest of their lives. We have fun, age appropriate games, activities, lessons, and music in the class. Many have learned the books of the Bible through a song that we play in class during activity time.
Now days children have many challenges in their lives. It is the time in their lives when morals, ethics, modesty and integrity are firmly set and even at times, tried. It is a time for positive influences in their lives and a time for them to grab a hold of something bigger than they are. It is a time for quality role models to influence them. It is our hope that we can influence our students towards a richer, better life in the Lord. We thoroughly enjoy teaching and developing a relationship with the students. They are a joy to us. We would be delighted to have your child join us in a time of spirit-filled fun!
Meet the Teachers:
Pre-School/Kindergarten Teacher
Sister Samantha Fitzgerel is a mother of three adult children and the proud grandmother of one. She has taken up the example set by her mother and become a Sunday School teacher. Her mother taught Sunday School most of her life. Sister Samantha has always loved children and has a special way with young children.
As well as being a wonderful Sunday School teacher, Sister Samantha is a great musician and singer. Her class is full of songs and activities. She is currently battling cancer and her faith has been an inspiration not only to her class, but to the entire congregation.
Junior Class Teacher
Sister Emily Kellogg is the mother of two-year old Jadyn. She relates well to her students and teaches them the old bible stories with a lot of "fun" mixed in. She comes from a heritage of sunday school teachers with both her grandmother and her mother teaching sunday school.
Sis. Emily helps her class learn to take their burdens to God in prayer. As one of our praise singers, she sets a good example for her students to be active participants in the service. Since becoming a mother, and now a sunday school teacher, she has learned to place her troubles on the alter, praying regularly for her students.
Teen Teacher, Sunday School Director
Sister Glenna Lasater has been a Sunday School teacher for most of her adult life and is the proud mother of two children. She loves teaching teenagers and feels a strong desire to make sure they know what the Bible says before graduating from her class. Most recently, her class has been going through the "Search For Truth" bible study and they have all learned so much. It's been thought provoking and has inspired many interesting conversations.
Teenagers want to have an understanding based on something solid. That is the approach that Sister Glenna enjoys most. Teaching them to put their faith and trust in the Word of God and helping them find the answers to their questions there. It is her hope to leave them with something stable that will get them through tough times ahead and keep them until the end.
